The bearing needed is specific to the VLSD trans. Post 209 shows the part number on the actual bearing. I removed it from a 1993 SE-R transmission. Nissan's part number for this bearing is 31408-31X08.
You do not need this bearing to install the MFactory diff. You only need to remove the race for this bearing from the trans case to shim the diff during installation. I need it because it has gone bad in the transmission I am installing the diff in.
Parts 100% necessary to install the MFactory unit: Passenger side bearing (p/n 32010, easily obtainable from O'Reilly, Advance, etc), speedometer drive gear (it's plastic and brittle, you may be able to remove it from your old diff and re-use it but I'd have a new one on hand just to be safe), and speedometer drive gear retainer.
The drive gear and retainer are dealer only items from what I've seen. I am sure that they are easily obtainable under normal circumstances. Unfortunately, I have been quite busy and my local dealer is very slack unless you stay on them relentlessly. I am going up there in person first thing tomorrow morning to straighten this out.
