Came out nice. Want to replace the b14 with black suede. Been debating DIY or taking to a shop...but i might do it myself now. Thanks.

I'm not an expert, but when I saw the two "stoppers" on the brace that connect the tracks, I just bent the moonroof cover up a little to clear them. Pulled right out. havent put it back together though, b/c I'm just a big procrastinator. I'm afraid if I bend it to put it back on I will leave finger marks or dents on the new fabric. Have to figure out a way to flatten out those stoppers.

They were more like "sliders". Putting it back in is the tricky part. The "sliders" are somewhat springloaded and you have to put slight inward pressure on them when placing them back in the slider rail...kinda like when you remove some cabinet drawers you have to pinch something on both sides...

Hope this helps.

@Sahadeo, I'm not sure I would go with black suede as it's very thin and the spray adhesive easily soaks thru. I used black suede on my S13 glove box cover and found this out...was gonna link it but I see the pics are no longer up.

I haven't seen that but it sounds like it would work if it has a foam pad lining. Sounds perfect! Where did you find that?

I have black suede headliner material in my 4 door right now. did it about a month ago, follow the procedure listed here, its the exact same. if you are tempted by the lower cost of permetex glue, trust me on this the 3m is far superior. ive used both.

the black suede I have is foam backed, got it for free from a buddy as I traded a little computer work for it. not sure where he got it from, but if I remember he got it from his buddy. there are plenty of places online that sell it.

Yea, I found plenty online like you mentioned...as long as it's got the foam liner it would be fine. I also agree 100% about using 3M spray adhesive...don't skimp there. IIRC, the last can of 3M spray adhesive I purchased recently was pushin $25 bucks.

Its expensive, but very well worth it. anything else is simply not as good in comparison. I think I paid $25 per can for mine at autozone. 2 cans was more than enough to do the headliner, and door cloths for the front door. I do about 3 coats for the headliner, do one, let it tack up, do another, and another repeating same process, then press the 2 together to complete the job.

Back from the dead. I'm doing this now and I noticed there's some thin insulation material between the board and the headliner material. I can't seem to find it anywhere to buy replacement. Is anybody replacing that insulation, or are you just putting the headliner material directly to the board. Any difference in sound or heat without it?

That is the old foam backing...that needs to scraped off so you get good adhesion and a smooth look/feel in the final product.
