I've never heard of fogs being illegal with oncoming traffic

oh no it is jus the angle at wich my camera phone was at, i have 8k head lights so it just looks green with the yellow

Most cars when the high beams are one, the fog lights turn off. It is actually a good way to recognize faster whether or not an oncoming car has the high beams blasting you.

But, I have never heard of them being illegal! That would be insane!

Fog lamps. Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two fog lamps mounted on the front at a height of not less than twelve inches nor more than thirty inches above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands and so aimed that when the vehicle is not loaded none of the high intensity portion of the light to the left of the center of the vehicle shall at a distance of twenty-five feet ahead project higher than a level of four inches below the level of the center of the lamp from which it comes. Lighted fog lamps meeting the above requirements may be used with lower head lamp beams as specified in RCW

Heres one of the rcw's in wa state. Its not illegal to drive with them, as long as they are in the lighting range, but if they are bright, 0r modded like he just did to his, then it is illegal and you can get in trouble. Like my wifes she has hid's in hers and got the ticket, but played dumb. Its just stupid in my book.

This is pretty much what i did a while ago, except i cut off the entire shield. Light output was much better then before (Not sure how the brightness compared to the way pan_duh did his) and still aimed equal height. I never had the time to do the write up though! pan_duh beat me to it! good job sir!

But to what Cliff said, I've never had any issues with cops with my fogs at all .
Even when driving in dense fog, I can still see the same way I did before I cut my shields. Maybe its my bulbs? I'm not running HID's. (PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow Bulbs)

Did this over 4 years ago on my B14. I agree with Barney, yellow light works better in fog. Old school fog lights used to be yellow anyway.

thank you sir. and jus to make it clear, my drive way has a slope upwards so it looks like the fogs are aimed higher. compared to stok lighting, i can see 2-3feet further with the shields off. sorta like really low aimed regular hallogen lights

Here is GA's law about it:
§ 40-8-29(b) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two foglights mounted on the front at a height not less than 12 inches nor more than 30 inches above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands and so aimed that when the vehicle is not loaded none of the high intensity portion of the light to the left of the center of the vehicle shall at a distance of 25 feet ahead project higher than a level of four inches below the level of the center of the light from which it comes.

Basically the lights on the driver side can't exceed 25' and point left, the right side looks like distance is not an issue but not to point it left as well. at least thats how i understand it.


So having them on during the day is not illegal and if you are low enough and have not pointed them up to high you should be fine.
