i don't have data on the 20v cas yet, still hoping somebody will sell me a vvl head + cas

Ms3 sr20det first start - YouTube

Miko has a couple 20v CAS 's for sale.

thank you for heads up re cas.

An exciting (for me) development today. I think I found a source of new pins and plugs for the sr20 engine connectors. this means I can make my ms <-> sr20 engine harness the right way. lets see if this pans out. if it does i'll be contributing ms engine harness docs.

im curious if the v6 cas's can be used on the fwd head with a little adapting? they look like they almost fit. i think though since i have packaging constraints because of my chassis, that i will end up with a hall effect setup like mazworx.

thanks to ben for introducing me to the freeEMS. i love the concept of opensource hardware and firmware (that anybody can work on). unfortunately lately i've been stuck on getting the car running again so i haven't had a chance to dig in too much yet.

MS3 is a great unit ... I just finished using my 1st one in a 98 S14 with S13 motor..

CP 8.5:1 Forged Pistons
Crower Rods
Greddy manifold
LC1 Wideband hooked to MS3 for Target AFR adjustments windowed to 10% max correction
Megan Manifold on GT2871R Turbo
740CC injectors. Flow Benched at 810CC
Theres the basics to the setup.. When we dynoed it the darn wastegate clip had fallen off so it would not build boost very well and only would get to 11psi but on a AWD dyno dynamics that reads really low it made 286WHP @ 11PSI ..

So IMO this ECU is vary crisp and clean and SUPER easy to tune ... I enabled auto tune for the ECU since it has an LC1 hooked into it and did step and hold every 500RPM on the Dyno and it self set the tables based on target AFR . It makes about 10 adjustments a second . VERY FAST ..

I just built another MS3 from scratch and soldered the entire PCB and all components and now have the MS3X and both simulators and this setup I'm getting rid of the FAST ECU I have in my Dune Buggy "PICS HERE" and replacing it with the MS3X as im building a new motor 54C GTI-R Block with VVL Head 235LB/HR Moran injectors running E85 .. This ECU will let me turn on VVL at 130kpa aka around 4PSI of Boost .. It seems that as soon as VVL cracks turbos spool so why not wait tell the turbo starts to have just a tad of boost and crack VVL regardless of RPM ..

Anyways theres my success story with the MS3 ..

i know its an old thread, but ECU brands/products/tech changes over time so some noteworthy additions....

DTAFast S60.
UK based, the S60 is a standalone designed for 4-cyl engines. Used widely in older fords/cosworth/millington engines, so more for the rally market but heaps of features and easy to use. Has been used on a 200SX in the UK apparently, an S80 has been used on a VG30DETT 300ZX.
795 GBP
Serial/USB/CAN connections.
DTAfast S 60 PRO ECU

Link G4+
G4+S Storm
NZ$1900
They do a plug'n'play option for GTiR and VE. Apparently same hardware/software as Vipec.
NZ$2100
Link G4+ plug in ECU for Nissan GTiR Puslar - Free NZ Shipping

Microtech LT-10c
Australian brand, aiming for affordable standalone ECU's. Mainly used in drag cars from what I know. LT-10c is designed for 4-cyl applications.
AUD$1100
