This article brought up a good point about the intercooler working as a heat sink too. If you ever picked up a cheap eBay intercooler and a good name brand unit you would see a huge weight difference (with the name brand being heavier).

With more material in the intercooler, there is more material to absorb the heat, thus it works as a better heatsink.

This is something I wish everyone would read and comprehend.
