Why are you guys running out and buying 4 wire 02 sensors? Whats wrong with tapping into the 3 wire 02 on our cars now?

Read the first post....

Basically 3 wire O2 sensor uses the ground from the sensor body/thread, that gets the ground form header, which gets ground from engine. If the header is SS it will not be as conductive as regular exhaust. Thus causing bad voltages on the O2 sensor, thus causing the car to run like crap and get bad gas mileage.

Scotty tried to take the 3 wire O2 sensor and add a ground to it via the thread of the sensor, that resulted in even worse results, this is why you need to get a sensor that already has the ground as a wire. Bosch 15727 is the 4 wire O2 sensor that is designed for our cars.

So I checked tje wiring and its right why else would I be getting a code for this?

I tried unhooking the battery cable and resetting the ecu so we'll see what happens now :/

Sorry for the late reply, the 24th was my b-day. Previously the idle was lopey, (irratic), but livable only due to my lack of experience with VE's. Now it's butter smooth. The throttle response under 4.5g is now crisp where as before it felt like a torqueless pig. Mpg was good before but seems better now which was my only goal. Fixing drivabilty issues I wasn't aware were issues was a suprise bonus. Like asking for water & getting vodka.

Take the car to Autozone and get the codes cleared for free...
Write the codes found & post them here.

1. Are you sure that you have an actual Bosch 15727 O2 sensor? Did it come in a box with 15727 printed on it?
2. Did you follow the Vadium's diagram and wire the O2 sensor by position (NOT by color)??
If you wired it by color, you have probably fried your fuse and/or the O2 sensor.....
3. Whats the condition of the wires & connector plug/pigtail used for the new sensor?
Wires not touching anything hot (like the manifold or block)???
4. Can you pull out any of the O2 wires from the universal connection box by hand?? (like the signal wire??)
5. What is your O2 grounding setup? (Thanks Vad)
6. Where did you purchase the O2 sensor? (NOT an eBay sensor)

All of the above can cause your problem...
