All is good. I rechecked everything. It was probally bad gas.

tried it
my cel had been on for a month or 2. pulled the code (front o2). so a few weeks ago, after reading this thread (and because my fuji is ss), i replaced the bad o2 with a bosch 4 wire. after clearing the cel with my scangauge the cel has not reappeared. however, overall driveability is the same as it's always been, good. gas mileage has been unaffected also (still get mid 30's on the highway).
just thought i'd share my experience.

Ric,
Thanks for your input.. Your car & ECU is ODBII. Also its a VE!! Your fuji may have a better grounding source.
But, this mod will not damage anything and you may see gas mileage increases over time.

You are the first person that has posted VE test results!
Please post any changes with your results over time.. Thanks again..

Is there a way to check the conductivity or ground source of the header? Reason being, I bought an ebay header (SSAC) for my VE, but it's of the ceramic coated variety.

I wouldnt know how to test a ceramic coated header.. I wouldnt think it was a good grounding source either but I really dont know.

Bottom line: Moving the ground from the Header to the Intake Mani with all of the other sensors & the ECU will provide the best overall O2 signal performance. Performance increases will vary based on the material of the Header, and OEM ECU vs After-market ECU. Minimal improvements have been found with OEM steel headers and Calum/JWT ECUs.

When I had my HotShot 3rd gen header on my B14 the MPG's, etc. were fine....that header is made from ceramic coated mild steel. I'm wondering if this ebay header is mild or SS under the so-called "ceramic"?

On the nissan oem 2 sensor for a highport 93 MT b13 sentra se-r the signal wire is white and the heater wires are red and black.

as DC says there appear to be many variations of ranbow flavors of nissan oem o2 sensors so go by tab position rather than color.

Middle plug is signal, outside plugs are heater wires.

^How has this MOD been treating you? I'm bout to order the 15727. You have the SSAC header on your car? You have the gray ground wire mounted on the intake manny?

Thanks,MR

^Still going strong? I noticed you had a VE.

Dont use wire colors as they may differ...

Yes, the new O2 ground wire should be wired to one of the Intake Mani grounding screws.. It puts all of the ECU input sensors at the same ground providing ground equalization..

^I noticed that was the case for the actual engine harnesses from what I read, but I didn't know that the O2 wires would change colors on this particular O2 sensor. I will keep that in mind and post a pic when it comes in. I also saw the link on the first page of the Bosch 15727 Oxygen Sensor from Amazon. Is that the best place to order? I entered my car info in the fields and it says that the O2 sensor does not fit my car .
