DINO oil probably clogged the squirtes up.. I changed to Mobil 1 about 3 years ago but they were probably partually clogged already.. Its amazing that the detergents in the Mobil 1 didnt keep them clean!! Am I wasting money on Mobil 1??

Oil Squirters.. They squirt oil at the top of each cam lobe for lubrication of the lobe, and surrounding parts.. Their is 2 squirters per lobe for each cam, giving you 8 squirt holes on each side. For the Intake Cam, I had a grand total of 3 squirt holes open (one on lobe 3 and both on lobe 4, lobe 1 & 2 was starving and are now pitted/deterioated from heat buildup). For the Exhaust Cam, I had a grand total of 2 open squirt holes (one on Lobe 2 and one on Lobe 3; amazingly no damage but normal wear). You should change the Oil Squirters every 100k miles (major tuneup). I didnt..

Yes... I know it has nothing to do with it... But, I didnt want to gunkup another O2 sensor with possible exhaust crap until I fix the problems...
I will reinstall once done with my other repairs...

My setup if anyone is wondering. SR20DE from a 95 SER in a 95 Sentra, highport cams, GSpec Crank and WP pulleys, JWT flywheel, SSAC Header, Stock SER exhaust, Injen CAI, Outlaw Engineering Thermoblock spacers, CS PS eliminator pulley, Exedy Stage1 Clutch, Nismo AFPR, Nismo Thermostat, Prothane MM, No AC, EGR, Cruise, or PS, timing at 19* /w 93 octane, AGX with GC coil overs, ST front and rear sway bars, stock SER wheels, and Full interior minus carpet with minor weight reduction.

Yep, I forgot about your setup.. But on the SR20DE with EGR blockoff, I thought the ECU would trigger a CEL if you removed the EGR/Canister solenoid. How did you get around it?

Took a look at your build and YES, you do have a very very nice build... Making me thnk I should follow your lead!

There is a resistor that you can use to fake out the egr just like the rear O2 fake out, Thanks Vadim, its been working great.

I know the pain about the squirters... most of mine were VERY clogged at 96k miles, nothing diesel and pressure pushing it all then out.

Hmm but does Mobile 1 have detergents? If not then it wouldn't do anything hehe....

Ahh nice

Alright which resistor did you use for the EGR?

Here is a thread about it, but its a 100k
ohm resistor. If you go to the old forum and search under EGR removal you will get lots of threads.

Hmmm. I didn't get a light when I took all the EGR crud off of my '92. Maybe it's an OBD2 thing?

I just reread this thread and came up with a noob question. do you think this mod is obd2 specific or will obd1 cars see similar benefits from going to a 4 wire if they have the ssac? I'm guessing it's going to be the same but would like the confirmation before dropping the $60.

^Not a noob question at all. It is a good one that hasn't been asked. I just think it is a ground issue in general. No matter what car it is. If it doesn't get a good ground, it want get a good reading. It's a lot to factor in even if the O2 does work properly. Maintenance, weight, driving habits, and some MODS will play a factor from car to car. Everybody definitely want get the same results. We are just looking for better results on gas mileage to help fight against the rising prices.

+1 then for this being a benefit to obd1 as well then?

A better Q for me might be will a calum obd1 ve ecu on a swapped VE with a ssac benefit from this mod? Again I'm guessing yes. I've done the ohm check thing per instructions although my $3 harbor freight meter says there's no difference (when it works that is). I'm guessing my equipment is sorry enough not to be able to register the differences
