haven't used Fram filters in over 15 years since I've known better.
I used the Fram book to find OEM alternatives and found the Subaru one.

here is a line-up....cheap aftermarket filter, OEM Subaru, and OEM 65F

close-up of the Subaru filter.

Next time I change my oil I'm going to size up the Subaru filter to verify that it fits. I don't see why it wouldn't since the aftermarket replacement is the same as our cars.

btw, the cheap aftermarket filter was used on my buddy's first oil change on his VE swap.

Yuck on Fram filters and yeah Nissans filters went china a while ago.

I use Mobil1 filters on my car and my wifes car. Never had any issues.

For a cheaper filter, STP FTW i use them on customers and a couple buddies cars.

Good thread btw

Another thing, the 15208-9E000(now changed over to 15208-9E01A) and 15208-65F0C are completely different filters which are both still in production and used on vehicles. They are interchangeable and there is absolutely no difference in thread pitch, diameter of seal, etc. Besides a minimal height difference in the filters. The 15208-53J00 on the other hand is the only one that is different, and I think it was a slight difference in the thread pitch(you can correct if I'm wrong and someone has experienced this)

I stopped buying Nissan filters since they went chinese.
Alot of people forget that Nissan has china made filters now,not japanese, like in the past.
No Fram for me either...ever

Which ones you use now?

I use the Nissan factory ones still, because the misconception of them all being made in China is.... WRONG....
The 53J is still made in Japan, the 9E0 is currently made in Mexico and used to be made in the U.K., the only one made in China is the 65F, regardless I took pics of all the filters and their internals showing the relief valves, and they personally look much better than the aftermarket alternatives I stock for non Nissan vehicles that come through my job (i.e Mopar filters, Magnetti Marelli filters, Valvoline filters, Mobil filters, and Pennzoil filters), I have a Purolator gold and a OEM 53J at home, I heard the Purolator golds are pretty awesome, so I'll make that comparison later as well.
