Let's keep in mind, however, that sometimes this feller is difficult to get a hold of. (This isn't #@&!%ing, merely observation.)

I tuned with an S-AFC on the highway, with a wideband kit. 5 mpg more, better response.

OK moved it up to decent value-per-dollar.

Who's hard to get ahold of? Calum?

What does that matter? Everything that we did on the dyno, I know how to do now myself. And someone could easily learn themselves with a few hours of playing with just tunerpro. The key is going to a good dyno that has a good operator. Reason why I go to Dyno4mance. Andrew can tell me exactly where to add fuel, pull fuel, add spark, remove spark.

S-AFC on a stock computer that is always fighting it with the learning mode still on....on the highway....nah Id rather spend my money on the Dyno getting proven power not butt dyno's....

Calum is still quicker than JWT. Around the holidays he can be hard to get ahold of sometimes but who isnt. Then after that, I dont know too many people who have emailed or called him didnt get an answer or even hours on the phone explaining things to.

I did use a dyno to gain my results. around 9.2 hp gain and 4 or 5 tq.

i dont want to hook up a computer to my car or hook up a ecu to my computer to mess with settings. what i needed to know was the a/f ratio and wideband gives me that.

What about those msd type of add on ignition things. I don't kow the exact name for them but they have a rectangular shape and you can just add it to your ignition system. It's supposed to improve your spark...... Anyone have experience with these?

From the olden days it was proven... if you were basic bolt-ons, the OEM ignition system was more than adequate and aftermarket was unnecessary, from what I remember.

I would say that a high-flow cat is in the "fail" category of modifications.

No need whatsoever on a NA SR20DE motor. There are plenty of threads, with dyno's, that state unequivocably that deleting the cat entirely gives you one (1) or two (2) horsepower. That is the most HP you will get, tops.

Also, the other viable option to the OEM plug wires is located here:

I'd go OEM or Ultra Wires only, per Andreas Miko.

I love this thread for the newbs. Great job.

So, on a stock long block SR20, all N/A power. Which is better? 2.25" or 2.5" exhaust?

Cams are planned for over the winter, but not right now. I'm thinking with the cams I should be looking at 2.5". Found an SSAC header on ebay with the 2.5" collector and outlet for $150. There's also a company on ebay that sells pre-mandrel bend exhaust kits in the same size for $120. Then I just need to pick out a resonator and muffler to finish it off.
