I just threw it away yesterday! wth do i absolutely need it or will something bad happen? i really dont feel like loosing 3 grand

No, you will be fine. It is to prevent an extremely unlikely oil fume fire/explosion in the event of an extremely unlikely backfire (explosion in the intake plenum). It will never happen. Don't worry about it. Plenty of us don't have them anymore, and no one has ever experienced any bad things because of missing one.

I've had plenty of backfires (tuning is fun!) and I've never had any problems. =]

Thanks, inspired me to check my PCV valve on the VE. Shot to h3ll, looks like I was losing crank case vacuum at WOT. Explains the oil burning.

USDM replacement for VE PCV anyone? Probably '00-01 RR sr20de.

FYI: I'm requesting this thread be moved from the All Motor Section to the How To / All Motor section. Look for it there in the future.
