Thread: "THE" Brake Thread

For my 91 se-r with ABS, i'm going with some of the same as you:

1 pair AD22VF (NX2K) front calipers
1 pair NX2K front rotors
1 set SS braided lines

I'm going to leave the rears alone, and just put in fresh brembo blanks/factory pads. My biggest concern is the master cylinder. I've searched over every brake thread I can find and still can't determine what the best MC to use with an ABS Sentra SE-R wanting to run the above setup. Can anyone chime in?

From what I've been able to figure out, you want the MC from a '95 Altima WITH ABS (whereas I don't have ABS, so I wanted one fron a non-ABS Alti).

It does get confusing with all the possible permutations. I haven't even started thinking about pads yet. I'm going to run a few RallyCross events to shake down the car and then decide what to run for full-on stage rally.

Got that part. I am not buying Maxima rotors and re-drilling them when the rear JDM NX2000 "bigger" rotors will bolt right on.


I'll double check on that, the Seller is 100% stand-up and can probably provide those, or already has. I just need to find out, thanks.


Perhaps so, but I found every single bit of information I needed for my all-Nissan upgrade within this thread and the provided links.

Per icerace2 it even has the correct brake proportioning from the factory Nissan engineers, and just for good measure, Greg V swears by it.

Which made it a no-brainer for me. Which is good in my case when it comes to mechanical systems.

I currently have Carbotech pads, my stock brakes with Carbotechs worked fine in Savannah. Keeping in mind my relatively low speeds due to zero skills.

See above, with Carbotech pads my stock SE-R brakes *seemed* fine to me at Roebling Road.


Same exact plan here, with the change-up of the 94 Maxima SE calipers for the P10 calipers (verified copasetic by Joe and per Andreas).

Ha lol I just pmd you about this stuff. Yeah I had the p10s on my old b13 with NX fronts and a NX MC and it was absolutely great.
You will love the setup it will take a lot of heat off the fronts.

did you also have to change the (correct me if im wrong) "torque member" when you went to P10s in the rear as well? I'm talking about the part the caliper is bolted to. It's hard to describe so I'm hoping you'll know what im talking about LOL

I am working on a new brake system as well, very similar to the setup Shawn B mentioned but I guess more mild?

AD22VF NX2000 front calipers
Brembo blanks
Hawk HPS pads
Technafit PVC coated SS braided brake lines
Stock master cylinder
Stock B14 rear setup (it needs replaced soon)

the P10 calipers and JDM NX rotors will give you a lot more BLIZZING

Here's what I had on my NX:

-- Front: Stock NX Brake Calipers & Rotors (AD22VF | 257mm x 26mm)
-- Rear: (91-94) Maxima SE Calipers & JDM NX Rotors (CL9HA | 258mm x 9mm) (43206-54c01)
-- U13 (95-98) Altima GXE Master Cylinder (2B101)
-- U13 Altima SE Ebrake Cable Bracket
-- Greg-V (Crown) Stainless Steel Brake Lines

I have the same setup on the SEL but with the NX2000 master. For the street, those pads work well. You may want upgrade that master to get the proportioning correct.
