It's really not all about "not supporting the little man". It's more about getting larger companies involved in something that would benefit the masses.

I don't see it likely to happen though, because they're charging substantially more even for one harness. I told them rather bluntly that $200 for a conversion harness is robbery, when they already have the materials and capabilities to build conversion harness for less than $100 shipped.

I then linked them to their own website in which a majority of their harnesses are selling for less than $100. If they're serious and would be willing to tap into another segment of the tuning market, they'd drop the price considerably.

Now that I have the harness diagram though, I'll likely build my own and refer everyone that wants one made to you. I have a harness now, just too lazy to do the diagram up. I'm going to refresh my soldering skills and create another step down harness just for giggles.

It was more sarcastic then ranting. I realize now after rereading what I wrote that the interweb doesn't convey my witty tone via typing; apologizes on that.

Ya, $200 from a company that has all the recourses to make the damn thing is just stupid, and frankly highway robbery. Though I chuckled when you linked them back to their own website. Nice.

If you need anything just let me know. I've learned a lot from making these things; the most resent is realizing the wiring differences between normal B13 ECUs, VVLs, and GtiR/BB ECUs. Small things that matter.

Does this step down harness cut the CEL and still allow the OBDII to pass with the plug in test?

It did for me.

OBD codes are different and the tests are different. I can't imagine passing a scanner check for codes with OBD2 testers looking at an OBD1 ECU.

The last Sentra I had was sr20 swapped in. Previous owner hacked the harness, leaving me with a air intake temp sensor code (missing from harness), and rear o2 code. With the downstep harness, I was able to use a OBD1 ecu, which don't have AIT and rear o2 codes. This took care of the issues I had passing inspection.

The rear o2 issue I had was due to the car being a 1.6, the rear o2 sensor is on the engine harness as opposed to 2.0 Sentra which is inside under driver seat (My interior harness was the GA harness).
