tow hitches.

and i wonder what a aluminum crash bar in the rear would do for weight savings for people with kids who still want a rear crash bar but less weight.

also the bracket that holds the jack.

the plate in the trunk that is a giant exhaust hanger bracket. Some people remove it i just reduced the size of it, though be aware of the spot welds that hold it in

Seriously, when was the last time you were stranded by a flat tire?

I have a full size spare in my trunk and the jack and handle is all aluminum (from my Z32) and all the panels in my trunk are gone no carpet either.

I used zip ties and self tapping screws..... I'm trying to make some plates that hold it from the original core support to some holes available on my rear lip..... If that don't work I'll chop the hell out of the bumper core and see what we can work out

Dont forget replacing the stock wheels with some REALLY lightweight 15" wheels.
Lightweight flywheel

Those 2 things will do a huge improvement. Reducing unsprung weight is what you want to do first. Then you go from there.

not really a stupid question. I have a huge intercooler in the front to hold it up instead of the bumper support. I just have the two side bolts that bolt it to the fender and then it rests right on top of my intercooler.

The rear bumper i have the 4 side bolts, one top and one bottom on each side. I also made brackets out of the metal strip that secures the bumper to the bumper support. And then also added 4 rivots along the bumper edge where it comes up against the car. Its solid enough that my daughter can climb on it to get on my trunk. Even though i get mad at her for doing it, hahaha.

I am at 60lbs with the pad still the car.

No way around it you got to rip that dash right out if you want to get 100% of it out....it's not too hard though but it is time consuming.
