If the sub is DVC w/ 4ohms/coil and the amp is 2-ohm stable in mono, do the following:
(+) out from amp to (+) #1
(-) out from #1 to (+) #2
(-) out from #2 to (-) amp
Distortion kills a speaker more than supplying too much power.
