*HID install Help*
Hey guys, I need some input on my HID install i did tonight. As far as i know, I triple checked and every connection is pretty much idiot proof, I am having some issues with my HID kit. It is an Eagle Eye High/lo kit. It is supposed to work with your factory high/ lo switch. I have installed everything correctly as far as I know. Here are my issues.
First off... I originally grounded the negative HID terminal to the negative battery terminal, as it is the best ground ( or so im told). With this the HID's work only on lo beams.
I then noticed ( completely braindead) that there was a ground on the chassis right by the battery tray in my NX. I disconnected everything and reagrounded it to this location. With then testing everything out, I had no Lo or High beams.
I then put everything back to how it was ( grounded to the negative battery terminal, and it works.
Anyways... here are the other symptoms. I read and talked to a few people and was told that it should not be a huge issue to upgrade the headlight lapmp fuses to what it specifies in the HID instruction manual. they are OEM fuses at 15A.
Currently the lo beams are working, but I notice for some reason the High beam indicator on the dash is on a very low glowing light with the lo beams on. If anybody has some input, it would be greatly appreciated. I am tempted to disconnect everything and go back with the regular headlights. I do not want any issues with this. Tommorow I will go and get some higher rated fuses and see if that works. But I am worried that the wiring will be under too much stress.
Overall, as far as the Beam pattern is, I am impressed. these lights are not that bad, I have the 5000K ones. The beam is not too scattered and it is a nice white light. I really need some help on this one guys, I honestly know jack **** about the electrical demons of our cars. My car seems to be infested with them. Once again I clearly followed the instructions to the best of my understanding from the manual and it is performing like this. I am just hoping that there is nothing wrong with the kit. Thanks to all who read and have input on this.
