Installing 6x9 speakers in B13 rear speaker deck
I happened to get some free Rockford Fosgate 6x9 speakers out of a Titan today so I'm gonna put them in the sentra. I've already wired them up and verified they work and what not. I'm just curious what other people have done to make larger speakers fit in the rear speaker deck with a stock look in a B13 SE-R. If nobody chimes in I'm just going to cut the holes larger and use self tapping screws. Thanks to anybody with a great idea.

I also had to create risers so the magnets would clear the trunk torsion bars.

Oh joy lol. And I was thinking this would be really simple. What did you use for risers and how did you modify the deck finisher to make it go back on?

long long time ago, I ran 6x9 in the rear of my b13 with these liftrings Scosche SB69 Universal 1-1/2" liftrings for 6"x9" speakers at Crutchfield.com

i dont have pics anymore but it did look somewhat factory.

edit: nvm I found a pic

I made some out of wood and painted them black. They ended up looking similar to what Keo has posted. I would buy instead of make.

These are the best pics I have...

So you used the lift rings so you wouldn't hit the trunk springs and also so you wouldn't have to enlarge the holes? Did you have to cut the finisher so it would fit over the speakers and lift rings?

Or do the lift rings bolt down to the finisher?

i bolted some MDF to the car and the lift wring to it. I did not have to cut the finisher at all. the speaker sat on top if the finisher.

I still had to cut the holes bigger even with the risers.

I attached mine in a really bad way. I believe I screwed the speakers to the risers, and then screwed the risers to the metal parcel shelf through the bottom (screws going up into the risers from below) sandwhiching the parcel shelf trim between them.
This means to remove the speakers or the parcel shelf trim, I have to remove the whole she-bang. Luckily in the ~10 years since adding the speakers I haven't had to remove them once. =/
