Preemptive Strike Question
So its a frozen tundra out there and I had to come in to work before I could figure this out. Figured i'd ask now so when I get home I can use what little light i'll have and before temps drop even further.....

.....so I come out to my B14 today because the wind blew my car cover around and as I was putting it back on correctly when I noticed a rapid ticking coming from the passenger side under the hood. I'm assuming its coming from a relay in the box where the horn relay and such is. Thing is, my battery is disconnected and has been for a few months....any idea whats going on here?

i looked it over pretty good, no evidence inside or out that it was rodants. The sound only went away when I popped the hood then when i closed it seemed fine until i put the cover on then i heard the sound again a little more faint than before, so i shook the car and it got slightly louder so I unlocked the car again, popped the hood, but this time i closed and locked the door (no battery so lock/unlock is with the key) but left the hood popped. I put the cover back on with the hood still slightly popped and no noise.......could there be some kinda juice getting to an alarm relay or something maybe? I have the ground disconnected on my battery for the last 2 months though so this is really weird. Its like -12 right now so I gotta wait a few days for it to warm up so i can get really get in there.

I will if it still does it when it warms up, the sound is so faint i dunno if it'll even pick up. Like i said i got it stopped for now by leaving the hood ajar. When it warms up i'll do some more investigative work, maybe even connect the battery and see if anything crazy is happening.

Do you have one of those silly stereo systems with big capacitors for the sub(s)?

Lol no.....it's suppose to really warm up this weekend so I'm going to close the hood and see if I hear the noise. So far with the hood ajar the sound hasnt come back...maybe it was some weird thing going on due to the extremely low temps?
