Thread: Gxe sr swap

Having issues I knew I would come cross them but not this soon so my dilemma

96- nissan gxe
Sr20 swapped
B14 engine harness

Now I was told that a b14 harness would plug in into a gxe dash harness well turns out 2-3 plug actually plug in I have pm a few members for input, I'm just reaching out for help what should I do? Do I look for a dash harness if so what year, model car? Please any help!! Would be appreciated

Why not just use the 1.6 harness?

Wich 1.6 harness?!?@ga16eats I was told to look up the wires threw a fsm but I have had no luck with that yet every web site I find shows the plug but it doesn't show you individual wire location on the actual plug so I can cut and wire the wires up

Why not keep the original engine and body harness in the car and swap the engine only?

I didn't know u can use a ga motor harness on a sr motor!! I rip the harness of when I was pulling the motor off so it's in all sorts of pieces

Go to the FSM section on the forum and find the 2 cars you are working with. #1 will be your car, year & model, #2 will be the car the harness came out of, year & model. De-pin the harness and re-pin in the correct harness. If the harnesses have different terminals you will have to cut and solder. Or you could get the correct harness from the same year car which should plug right in. If all else fails go get the dash and engine harness from the same year car as yours and swap both over.
