What amp to get for bass tube?
Hey all...wifie got me a 8"dual-voice coil bazooka for the NX. Passive no amp. It has four weird terminals in the back. I need to get an amp...should I be getting a four-channel amp or a two? Not familiar with car audio at all...the car was already wired for an amp though with RCAS, power, ground, and remote switch.

BT8024DVC
is the one she got me.

Two channel at a max rating of 400watts, as thats all the tube can handle

Im going to trust that you know what you're talking about.
I'm assuming these terminals are for bare wires...never seen ones like these before...they have a top part that unscrewed from the enclosure and there's a post with a hole through it on each male end on the enclosure.

Sorry, the picture comes from some ebay sale, but they're little twist offs like those right?

All you do is insert the wire straight through the hole in the center and tighten the cap down so the wires wont come loose.

And I know a little about sound systems, I'm running a 12 and 10 of off my 2channel 450W fusion amp.

Channels just means how many speakers you can hook up to the amp, that's why a 4channel would be unnecessary for even your sub.

As far as the dual voice coil goes, you can bridge them or run them separate. I usually bridge them to have less resistance but that can also change the sound slightly so that'd be your choice.

On a duel voice coil you only need a one channel amp. Your going to wire the sub in series and this will drop the impedance down to 2ohms, this normally nearly doubles the power it can handle and doubles the rms output of a 2ohm stable amp. Not many people power both coils of a DVC sub.

If you get a 4ohm 2ch amp make sure it can be bridged to 1ch and is 2ohm stable setup this way. Sonicelectronix.com is my personal fav.

You should get 2 amps 1 for all 4 interior speakers and another for the tube...ide go with hifonics since i never had a problem with that amp. You want your speakers sounding super clear along with the bass

^ good idea. most 5 channel amps will handle a 2ohm load on the sub channel.

I have a 5 channel amp now and it cuts off at high volume...not a hifonics though, a bullshit one
