tach working periodically

Just picked a 95 g20t and Tach works every now and then. anybody have any clues.

common problem....in all my years with G's there has never been a fix...excpet putting in a different tach...that will eventually develop the same problem

yea a new cluster would solve the problem part time, my p11 is the same way. i gave up on it`

I have a similar problem but my tach just reads high every once in a while Is that something to do with the connection or is the tach bad? I have a 98 sentra se.

im no expert but does the direct wire going to ecu is not effective?
