My wiring project
Started taking this apart so I can clean it up and wire some other stuff in.
Permanently adding wiring for MAP and IAT sensors + more.

Getting rid of the stock coil/ignitor
For these:

This page comes in handy

This came yesterday, the rest will be here today.

The pins have already been moved around to where I need them so i can use coilpacks.... I just have to run some grounds, a power, wire up a couple connectors, and then loom it all back up.

This is the wiring that is not needed anymore.

Just got here.
2 terminal connectors for the new mishimoto fans i'll install soon.
4 terminal con. for wideband
8 term con. for the coilpack subharness.

After reading all about Ben's complaints about how he did his wiring, I decided on split braided loom to save some time and headache.
The fun begins shortly.

Got the subharness for the coilpacks done.
Since the pins for the connectors only support 18AWG
I had to split the power wire down to 3 smaller wires.
I also doubled the ground and made it a little longer.

Im not making a show car, and de-pinning every connector to use nothing but heat shrink would be nice, but thats a shit-ton of time. If I was getting paid to do it, I would.
I only took that harness apart enough to double the ground, and change the power wire so I could put a female connector on it so that I had a compatible male plug to use with it.
That harness is brand new and doesnt need much attention, besides I'll be spending way more time with the engine harness. Also I dont mind using a fraction of tape putting it back together considering how much was on there.

dude if you were going to do this I wish I would have known. I have some S15 coil harnesses that have been sitting in my garage since Vegas when I had my S15. I then was going to use them on my 300ZX HC, but now they just sit in my garage. One of the many parts I have had for over a decade You pack rats know what I'm talking about.

nah man, dont get me wrong im not Bashing the effort. its all pretty cool stuff.... but heat shrink doesnt take as much effort as you make it "sound" cool stuff anyhow, keep up the great work

Put shrink around some of the factory "tape"

Soldered and almost shrunk - IAT sensor plug

Reusing some of the factory covering with shrink on the ends

Pins for the plug that will go to the O2 wideband

Other end of O2 and my homemade de-pin tool

MAP plug wires extended

Sleeved

Working on the plug that will connect to the coilpack harness
Marked the wires with a sharpie

Combining the powers into one
Crimped for two reasons...
.... I dont have a high enough wattage soldering iron for thick wires
..... & after seeing how nice the factory crimps look after 20 years...

Tape and heat shrink

Sleeved and ready to add to the rest

May I see what your coils look like? What are you going to be running? VE? T? this in a b13? what management?

Sorry if you have another thread on this, But I'm currently doing a similar set-up on my car... Wiring in a MAP & IAT for my Haltech E8. But I've hit a wall due to lack of funds. I've gotten my harnesses apart for the basic "chopping up". wired in all my gauges and wideband to the factory harness already. lol @ how it looks factory..

I've been using Deutsch connectors for all my stuff.. Caterpillar stuff.. long story..
