It's not loud but it gets louder or quieter when you turn the dimmer knob, I used your guide to wire up the center plug then traced the rest of the wires with the labels on the back of the clusters and there are two grounds one out the yellow plug and one out the black unless your counting the illumination ground on the white plug

And also I just switched the fuel wires but my light is still on, so basically your saying the yellow wire I asked about earlier just ties the illumination together?

Okay, I see you're right about the grounds.

Have you tried to disconnect the "looping" wire that connects (or at least I suspect) 17 with 21?

Is there fuel in the tank?

About the wire: I think so. Can you confirm for me that it does indeed connect pins 17 and 21 as seen on the FSM page above? I have no clue about it's ACTUAL function, though. If I look at the FSM, there's 2 diodes in there, directed in opposite ways. I think current comes from 12, powers the illumination through 21, but then diverts some power to 17.

Also, I have the cluster installed with a dimmer switch, and when I turn the clusters switch high, I can still lower the brightness of the digital part of the cluster. Can't recall what exactly I did.

But yeah, try removing that yellow wire, if you haven't already. The buzzing sound makes it sound (lol) like you have a short or something in the Illumination system.

I filled it up before I started the project, the buzzing is a bit louder but you still have to listen hard to hear it. Ok as far as the yellow wires, in the center of the yellow plug there are four spots on the right side there is the yellow wire coming out of the plug and right below it is a yellow and blue wire that loops to the top of the left side then at the bottom of the left side there is another yellow wire that just comes out, so just try splicing those into the illumination wires?

Oh, right, now I remember. They have a seperate set of holes, don't they? I remember now, they do nothing for us. Might as well remove them. Sorry for the confusion.

Anyways, it sounds like you might have to quadruple check the wiring for the Illumination.

How did you wire up the pin marked as "17" on the above page of the FSM? What other pins is it connected to? Is it just connected to the wiring that comes out of the car? Or is it also connected to the black center plug on the digicluster? If the former is true, did you connect the wire coming out of the center black plug to anything?

As for the pin marked "21", is it connected to the center plug on the digital cluster as well?

The problem is, when you've removed the original plugs of the car, you can't really tell what wire does what anymore.

Yea true lol wish I could start over fresh, but both the illumination wires were tied together already when I got the cluster all I did was connect them to the b13 side. The dash itself lights up you can see it during the day, it dims and brightens with the knob its just that nothings showing up in the actual "digital" portion of the cluster

Do you have a dimmerswitch?

The one pictured below?

If so, is it connected to the center plug on the cluster?

I've just checked on my own car, and this is what happens with mine:

Turn the car to IGN: Cluster comes on, no dimming possible
Turn on the lights: Dimmer switch controls backlight, Illumination knob controls gauge lights. When Ill. knob is at max, I can't dim the backlight.
