So is there a consensus that I should just tie into the switched 12v?

That doesn't tell us much though. I need to know where to connect it to even if it's on a switch...

You provide a per source as the parking brake grounds out when pulled up therefore the DVD will only play when parking brake is up if you want to play a DVD whenever ground that wire directly to ground and DVD will play whenever.

The wire is looking for a ground be it a chassis ground or just a completed circuit (brake switch engaged).

Ground the wire and be done. I thought i explained it but i guess not.

Ok, so I just watched a youtube video that explains the bypass. You can not permanently ground the wire, as it will not work. See video for details.

Thanks all

Go To Radio Shack and get a Twist Knob Switch... Connect to a Constant Power Source and When you want to bypass the E-Brake Safety...Just Twist till Video comes on.
