Asap Viper Alarm Help
My car came with a Viper 5601 model alarm system. It has never given me problems, I am in Virginia right now and I get in the car, it won't start...lights are blinking alarm sounding as if it was hit last night or so. I put it into Valet Still won't turn on I shut doors and armed..nothing...I disarmed nothing I need help ASAP have to go back to NY tonight.

You should have a pushbutton you can open the door turn the key in the on position with door Open and press 5 times keep door open and turn key off then start car then close door. This bypasses the alarm for that one instance. The button that comes with the alarm is the size of a skinny pen cap. Usally only about a 3 ft lead so they usally let it rest in the bottom of where the fuses are or just tape it to the unit itself.

the starter kill is enabled. You should be able to put the car in valet mode and it should start. If it does not its possible the starter kill relay has failed or the alarm has a issue. I am attaching a pdf of the owners manual which has the instructions for valet mode from the remote and from the learn button(valet button)

sounds like a a low battery. Have you checked your battery voltage. Low voltage will cause the alarm to go off like this and the car not to start.

Wow, didn't know that, thanks!

This happened to me a few years ago. I ended up unplugging the alarm and drove home.

Dei has incorporated a voltage monitor in all their alarms since the early 90's.

Checked battery with Volt meter putting out 12.7v car still doesn't start. Ripped car apart, can't see what is wrong Valet Not working..doors open and shut alarm arms and disarms...just won't turn on with remote start or key start...has a continuous click from the relay box(SEr) and high beam flash

Another thing that I have seen happens is the factory VATS system is left in place with a aftermarket alarm. I would unplug the main harness off the viper alarm and see if the car starts then. With out being their I cannot tell you how the system was wired up. I can tell you if the car is manual they had to rig it up in order to get the remote start to work. Its illegal to install remote start on a manual car. I have done it in the past but I always had to bypass the safety system in order to get it to work right.
