Relay questions
Hey everyone, I've got a quick question sorta. Can somebody tell me if this relay diagram I have drawn up is correct?
I did the VW headlight swap in my NX, so I have separate low and high beam lights. I have HIDs in the lows, and Silverstars in the highs. Currently, when I flip on my bright lights, my low beams turn on. What I want to happen, is my low beams stay on and my high beams turn on as well.
Since the low beam runs on a ballast to normalize voltage, I was thinking I could tap into the factor high beam power source and have it send power to the ballast as well as the regular low beam wire, and have the other end of the high beam wire go to pin 86 on the relay for the trigger. Ping 85 would be grounded. Pin 30 would be getting a 12v source from my battery. And pin 87 would be used to feed power to the high beams since the standard wire is now being used as a relay trigger and HID ballast power.
Does this seem right? I've never custom wired anything with a relay, and couldn't find a walk through only that was exactly what I was trying to do. Also, I would probably use 1 relay per side instead of just 1 as pictured, but you get the idea. Anybody see any issues?
Thanks,
Nate
