EGR removal
Well, I have to work a bit on my harness today, and I want to tackle the EGR code I've been getting while I'm at it. Note that I am running a B14 JWT ECU (and they refused to delete the EGR), and am currently getting a code for EGR flow.

As it is now, I have connected the stock temp sensor, but it is zip tied in the engine bay, so it measures only the ambient temperature of the engine bay. The whole EGR module is disconnected, and the engine has no EGR unit.

Now, from searching around on the other forum, I have read that we need to put a 68kohm resistor instead of the temp sensor. Now, will this resolve the EGR flow code, or will it just keep the ECU from tripping the temp code, which I am not getting anyhow? I am a bit confused about this part.

I'm thinking that the value of the resistor probably fools the ECU into thinking it never needs to turn the EGR on, which means it will never meter the flow. Am I right in assuming this or will I be doing all this work for nothing? I have more than enough resistors of all possible values at home, since I used to work in electronics, so getting the parts is not the issue here.

Well, I did the "stick the resistor in the plug and tape up" trick, and I figured that if it doesn't change anything, I'll just connect the EGR temp sensor back in. I have let the car idle for a while and it did not throw a code, but then again, it's supposed to throw one for my missing rear O2 sensor as well.

I'll keep you posted.

What resister did you use?

I want to do the same on my Rear O2 sensor

It's a 68kohm resistor. My rear O2 code popped up this morning, but not the EGR. Crossing my fingers.

I have no clue of the resistance needed for the rear O2. I personally have one behind the main cat, but I don't have the wire on my pigtail to connect it to the ECU (I only got a hold of a 98 pigtail, and this terminal is not used by the 98 ECUs). I'll be doing this in a few weeks.
