Internal Antenna
Anyone use one? I barely listen to the radio. I actually don't even have the antenna screwed in and want to have it shaved whenever I have the body work on the car done. I was looking around and came across this on ebay. I know it probably isn't the best internaa antenna but since I barely use the radio and opt for CDs/MP3s instead it is better than nothing for less than 5 bucks and 3 weeks to get it.

I have that exact same one

It works great if you mount it correctly. Otherwise you have a lot of interference and spotty reception; It took me a few times to get it just right(after I didn't follow the instructions, follow them and you'll be fine).

I put mine at the top of the windshield, in the center. About 3inches from the top.

I had this one hidden in the center console of the miata:

ANTENNA-PARTS METRA 44-UA20 High gain hide-away amplified antenna or AM/FM bands High gain hide-away amplified antenna or AM/FM bands, active magnetic-type antenna, voltage pickup is Nanovolts, 120 inch coaxial cable and power supply wire;

Reception was just dandy, even with the hardtop installed.

You can ground the contact at where you screw the sunvisors to headliner.

Actually, for some reason, mine didn't like that ground... I just ran a wire down to the cig lighter.
