Well alright then!
So basically it needs to be brighter. I think I can get the needle a bit brighter, but because the needle pipes the LED light up into it, I don't think it will ever be very visible in the day. Most shenanigans happen at night anyways.
I can do a brighter shift light elsewhere in addition to the needle. On my B13 there is an empty bulb socket below the cruise control and turn signal lights. I'll set something up there and post another video, hopefully by tonight.
I don't know if it will work for the B14 - I only have a B13, so this is what I designed it for. Does anyone know if a B13 tach will run in a B14? If it does, and is accurate, then this will work in the B14. Otherwise I'd need to borrow someones B14 to probe the tach signal and see what it looks like.
Any other suggestions, anything in particular you'd like to see? Maybe an option to have the needle always red, then strobe at the set redline? Maybe a standalone (removable?) shift light outside the cluster, on the dash or something?
