That resistor is the same on a lot of different models of ECU, i.e the ECU i have here to check the value is a Silvia S13 ECU.

Bottom line, you just don't want to put one in there that is under-rated (i.e 1 watt). 5 watt will work fine, but will be overkill, at least you have pleanty of space around it.

thanks i replaced it with the .47 5w and the ecu turns on now

It looks like the resistor is current limiting the input to the ECU if it was not powering up before. Either something else is damaged or someone could have switched the polarity of the incoming power. Keep an eye on it before you trust it.

Just to complete the information in this thread, i removed the part from a spare ECU i have here and it is a 2 WATT resistor.

Hope the 5 watt holds up, if it doesn't (or gets rather hot during operation) you definintely have a major fault somewhere.

thanks for the help but i ordered another tuned b13 ecu cause the ecu turned the fuel pump on fine but i was not getting spark so hopefully the ecu i got from jk tuning will fix the problem
