Its a resistor.

0.47 Ohms.

So it's a .47ohm 5watt resistor? Thanks for the reply

So the question is why did you overheat a 2-3W resistor? Something either shorted or something else failed inside the ECU. Usually resistors dont fail on their own.

As above, i highly doubt its wattage would be as high as 5 watts, maybe 2-3 watts maximum.

It is possible however that its a fusible resistor, but i'm not sure.

squirlz does ask a good question though, you could replace it and have it go pop again if there is another fault elsewhere on the board. Also surprised there is no track damage (have you checked the underside of the ECU board?)?

the under side of the ecu is fine nothing looks burnt. idk how that happend i bought the ecu off another member a couple of months ago never checked it and idk if i got it like that or i caused it. anyone know where i can find the resistor/fusable resistor i checked radioshack and the have different looking ones but they said it was a capacitor idk??? i need to know the wattage thanks

Digi-key is the best option. I would get a 3 watt just to be sure. Search for resistor and then use the filter to narrow down the results to get what you want.

Thanks I Think I'm better off buying a new ecu just incase I fried something else on the board really appreciated the help this will deffenetly help someone in the future

So since I can't find another u12 ecu I gonna try replacing the resistor it was a .47ohm 2 watt resistor. What will happen if I get a .47 ohm 5 watt resistor? It's the only one I can get locally at radioshack

It wont blow until you put 5 W through it.
