I had a full audio and alarm system installed by Doug Hall of Innovative Sounds in Stockbridge, Georgia. Doug was a national level competitor in the USCA & IASCA back in the day and won a National Championship in 1996. He opened Innovative Sounds in 1994 IIRC. I trust him to do high quality work and he didn't disappoint. He shot closer to 200 pics that I just spent several hours sorting and downloading. Enjoy!
Headliner out and roadkill sound deadening in:
Trunk cleaned and roadkill in:
Trunk lid and deck lid roadkill:
Doors stripped, cleaned, and roadkill:
Remember I chose to use a Focal K2Power 3 way system for the front stage. The crossover for the 4" midrange and tweeter is visible in the first picture. Doug built sealed boxes for the 6.5" mid bass drivers:
Finished front doors include 6.5" mid bass, 4" mid range, and 1" tweeter:
All of the Focal equipment was bought used and it turned out that the sub was damaged. Focal doesn't repair anything so now it's a pretty paper weight. We went with a JL Audio 10w3 for the sub in a sealed box:
For amplification I chose JL Audio Slash series amps. 300/4v2 for the front stage (75w to each midbass driver and 75w to each midrange/tweeter combo) and 500/1v2 for the sub:
Finished trunk - super clean look:
I wanted to ensure full available power at all times so I added both an Alumapro C.A.P. 15 farad capaciter and upgraded the alternator to a 160 amp output unit (alty upgraded prior to stereo install):
I picked up an Eclipse head unit from Cliff when he upgraded. It allows me to run the midrange/tweeter as front and midbass as the rears and uses onboard crossovers for the front stage. The Eclipse unit has as well has a direct input for the Sirius satellite radio. Doug moved the radio to the lower position for me in anticipation of a gauge package at a later date. I also had a set of usb chargers added so the electronic devices could stay charged:
Looks nice, they guy has some talent. I love Alumapro, i have had the 15F cap for rears, and love their Alchemy MX's in bandpass boxes. I have heard a few sets of Focals and loved the sound. Not a JL fan at all but if it works and they do make some decent stuff. The only thing i would have done differently is to move the tweets down a little, i like a very mellow tweet. I also never put the crossovers in the door, every time the door closes the crossovers take a shock and they can get wet. I mount them up in the dash above the kick and run wires in the door.
The Cap is not a bandaid fix from where i sit, it provides a short burst of energy to the amp, when it needs it, to keep the input voltage as high as possible. The higher the input voltage the less current the amp will draw for the same output. This helps to keep the amp cool and prevent distortion.
I like it Joe.

Love the install for sure! The boxes for the mid-bass drivers are great! I bet the system is VERY well balanced!
I MISS doing car audio install's. I like his technique for the boxes and have used similar techniques in other install's as well as the kerfing he used on the bent MDF piece for the sub box!
I want to hear the system!

Excellent points! I too used an Alumapro cap for years as well as their Alchemy 12's... I think the older traditional 1 farad caps were bandaids, but the 15-50 farad stuff is no joke.

What I like most compared to previous system's I've had is the bass seems to come out from under the dash, instead of the coming from behind you in the trunk. And the front stage is incredible. Voices seem to be coming out of my HVAC controls - LOL

ahhhhhh,the car audio ultimate goal,IMO.
It is VERY hard to acheive that.Mostly because car acoustics SUCK....anyway,I digress.
Great looking setup, hope to hjear it sometime for sure!
I assume you are bringing the G to the convention
