Rockford Question (For Larry)
Hey man, I sent out my P3 Tuesday, and it got to the repair shop on Thursday. The cone was cracked/punctured, and replacing that should have taken atleast a day. The thing is, I kept checking on their site, and it never went into repair, but they sent me out a package the next day. Would they have sent me a new sub??

IDK who Larry is, but generally that's what RF does with my components when they fail, and they're under warranty. I send any failed components under warranty into the shop right as the new season equipment hits the shelves, and generally get the latest model back in the mail.

I think I know who Larry is...Tearoffguy,right?
Just a lucky guess.lol

Anyways...yes you probably got a new speaker. It is common for any manufacturer to due this.
I had a P3 10 that had a cracked cone, like you said.I returned it to the dealer(which, ironically is where Larry used to work:rolleyesand he replaced it for me.He told me that they always do that and they take apart the speakers to see if there was a design flaw before recycling the materials,or rebuilding the unit. This process takes a few days, thats why they just swap them if possible(if they are new enough)
If they do fix the speaker, they will resell it a a refurb.later on down the line.

Hope that helps enjoy your new P3
