can you play the sub outside of the "enclosure" with the same head unit/amp? just to eliminate or narrow down to the enclosure..

Sounds like a loss of control. How much power are they rated for RMS? What is your amps RMS output at the impedance of the woofer? A sub in a large sealed enclosure will want to play deep, to do this you need lots of power to control the woofer so that it does not exceed its Xmax. My guess is that you do not quite have enough control for such a large space.

First i would try cutting down the area by using your spray foam idea. Once the spray foam is in there i would use some primer and acrylic paint on top of it to seal it the best you can. Try taking small chunks out at a time and see if it gets better.

You could find out how much volume the woofer should have and try and match that in the panel. You could fill the whole cavity and just carve out what you want, if i had a choice i would try to keep it as round as possible.

Both for sound deadening and musical clarity...

Youre always welcome to come hang out man, like I said earlier, the 7" in the doors will be the hard part. I DO NOT want to have a big alien baby looking door pod sticking out 4"s looking all ghettotastic and crap!

Check this thread for some inspiration maybe:

Install Freestyle - DIYMA.com

You've got some nice equipment going in, it should sound very nice if you can get everything in place. I'll be watching.

Just got a Pioneer P880PRS for my G20, with either Polk Momo MM6 or DB6501 (whichever will fit) going in the front. This will be the first car I've deadened. I have always wanted to try Raammat, but sounddeadenershowdown is probably going to get my business.
