Speed sensor questions
So now that I've got my car put all back together since the engine rebuild, it seems that my speed sensor has died. I know it is plugged in, double-checked that. It worked before the tear down, and now it does not. Anyways, I have a P11 transmission. I still have the P11 electric speed sensor that came with the tranny, but when I put the tranny in I used my original B13 electrical speed sensor.

Now that that has failed, my question is - will the P11 speed sensor work just fine with the B13 system? It is a P11 tranny, so I know it'll work with that, but as far as electrical goes, will it output the same speed signal as a stocker? I'll also need to look for a pigtail for the new sensor to plug into if it will work (I'll worry about that later).

My thoughts on the sensor not working is either: 1) the gear fell off the sensor (not good...), 2) it just randomly failed during the rebuild while everything was off (or moving around the tranny killed the sensor, hell I dunno), or 3) something is wrong with the wiring (broken wire, or the wires came out from behind the dash). The reason I think the sensor has failed is because neither the dash or the ECU get a reading.

The other downside to this is with no working electric speedo, I have no odometer and tripometer to check my mileage with :-(

Anyways, if anyone knows if the P11 speed sensor will work with a B13 ECU and such let me know. I'd like to get this fixed quick.

I did a quick search, didn't find much, sorry if I overlooked something.

The gearing is different in the P11 that may be why the B13 sensor isn't working. The P11 one should work fine, as far as I know all the Nissan speedometer setups are the same. Try it, if your speedo works you are all set. It would be more accurate with the P11 part.
