Thread: Auto/manual speed sensors NX1600 and Digital Cluster

Right, can't figure out where I went wrong.

Today I installed my NX1600 digital cluster in my NX2k. Everything went fine, and when I was done, everything worked properly.

However, when I started riving, it showed me only half the speed.

Now, I know this happens in cars with the GA engine, but then all you have to do is to find the correct sensor.

However, in my case, it's a manual cluster (NX1600), with a manual speed sensor (B13 SE-R, or so I'm told that it's from a manual), in a manual car (NX2k). And afaik there's no auto B13 with SR20DE, right?

What did I do wrong?

The NX1600 sensor won't fit in the tranny, already tried that.

Is the only option left a frequency multiplier?

Same problem here. Unfortunatelly Yes. As I found out the hard way, there is no way to recalibrate the cluster.

If it is half speed, I have an idea...... I had a b14 tranny and installed it in my nx... The sensor was reading TWICE actual road speed. Might solve your problem. Not sure, had several different trannies, the color of the gears have been different...

vss sensor is broken or the wrong one.

Yeah, I thought that it could be the wrong one, but as far as I know, there's no auto B13's with SR20DE?

About the B14 tranny; did you mean installing the tranny? Or just the sensor?

Cause Sentra's were never sold here, so getting a tranny would be quite expensive :P

They made a auto b13 sr20de. Its a rare car though I have only seen a few.

Okay, I have this speed sensor, but I haven't got the foggiest idea what car it's from.

I know its not a b13 vss sensor. I have both a cable and electronic speed sensor for the b13. iirc the b13 has a pig tail on the sensor but I am not at home so I can't look at the tranny sitting on the floor.

I know, the B13 is also a metal one. This one is plastic. It fits in the tranny though, so it's one from an SR20DE.

the plastic ones were 95+ I believe.
