Thread: car alarm issue with the deck

hi, i just got an nx2000 that has a prestige car alarm on it, the guy disabled it by taking out the battery on the remote. i installed a new deck in and it gets constant power as it winds when i plug it in but when i turned the ignition on, room lamp fuse busts. thats when i opened up the fuse box and viola, car alarm wires hooked up to some fuses... and for some reason, the alarm led is always on. i replaced the room lamp fuse but theres no luck, the deck just winds but wont switch on when the ignition is on acc or on. anyone got any insights? im planning to rip out the alarm system, does anyone know where i can find an alarm diagram for a prestige car alarm? didnt come with a manual when i got the car. any insights on what i else i should do?

Thanks for the link but i found the problem to be a little dink. The wires for the alarm constant power and ignition cut were attached to the hazard and audio fuses.... and they used those fuse connectors that slides in with the fuse and thus, made the slot bigger so the fuses dont stay in place and wiggle. LOL. That's 1991 installers for you. LOL. most of the alarm system wasnt even hooked on, nothing for the hood, the hatch, or even the passenger side door. lol. the siren was even disabled ghetto, no electrical tape on the open ends. haha
