Time for initial thoughts:
First of all, as you can easily (maybe not?) see, the gauges are manufactured in Taiwan. No surprise there. I'm not complaining though, becuase I've had my share of Taiwanese electronics parts and none of them have given me any issues (we're talking about consumer electronics, which is the category I'd place these gauges into). They actually feel of the same quality that my autometers do, so I'm not sure why some complained that they felt so cheap. I'd imagine that if autometer gauges felt so cheap, more people would complain since they cost so much more.
I can tell immediately that the tint on the gauges is now lighter than previous models of the prosports that I've seen. This is a good thing, because many complained about not being able to see the gauges easily. They also include hood visors.
Water Temp: Gauge's scale is from 100* to 320*. I don't imagine ever seeing something above 220*, at least I hope I don't!
Picture of the sending unit: Seems pretty heavy duty.
Oil pressure gauge: Gauge scale from 0-110psi. Again, perfect scale I think. Shouldn't see over 100psi cold.
Oil pressure sending unit: This thing is HUGE. I think that's the only complaint I have so far. Note the fitting type/size. 1/8"-27NPT. Obviously will not fit in the stock pressure switch location, so I'm stuck using my Nissport adapter back there =\ Unless of course any of you know of an adapter from 1/8"NPT to 1/8"BSPT...
My little helper mechanic inspecting the sender:
Boost Gauge: Scaled from 30inHg to 30psi. I think this range is perfect. I don't see myself with more than 18inHg, or more than 28psi.
Comes with filter and MAP sensor:
Filter to be used between boost/vac source and MAP sensor, to keep contamination from affecting the MAP sensor's components.
Standard 3ft. wiring harness that comes with every gauge.
Rear of the Oil pressure gauge (they all look the same, aside from the label being different)
Flash off (note there's still a protective cover on the lens, you may or may not be able to see it in this pic):
Anyhow, that's my "review" on the gauges, so far. I'll be posting up once I get them installed tomorrow.
