I'll have that information this afternoon. Mike currently has the vehicle, remote, manual, and the alarm boxes are on the rear floorboards. He's working on a lengthy check-list of very minor mechnical items.

Keep in mind I was moving quickly on the alarm install. I drove home Sunday and Monday. Slept for seven (7) hours, and was at the tint/alarm shop on Tuesday. No screwing around with my Classic in crime-ridden Houston.

BTW, the tint really makes the car look new. The old, faded, purple-ish, tint on two of four windows had to go. And quickly. Now I am two (2) new OEM MDM quarter windows, and Sal "beautifying" my rims, from the exterior of the car looking as new as off the showroom floor. Yes, I shall import new windows from Mexico just to get new looking trim. I've become OCD about my quest for a "better than new Classic."

One item on my checklist was addressing something was clattering under my hood, Mike determined it was coming from the emmissions crap that hangs off the front driver side of the valve cover. Therefore, right now I am searching for "EGR+block" and "EGR+delete". As soon as I find the answer for Mike, I am going to call him.

And then I will have him tell me my alarm model.

I have one of these sitting here waiting to go in as soon as I get a min. I think you have a highport from memory, if its a lowport, just go to the page before this one and select the lowport.

I put 2 peizos under my dash and when testing i almost went def. If anyone can steal my car with those going off they deserve it.
When i did my alarm i was redoing the entire dash harness at the same time so all the wires are factory wires, taped and ran with the main harness and everything is out of site. It would probably take someone with knowledge about alarms 1/2 hour or more to find the brain. No wire connections are noticable since they are all soldered and connected in the loom and tape. The brain takes quite a bit of disassembley to even get to. As an installer i know how easy it is to find brains in most installs and how to bypass them. I would love to have someone try to find the sirens and stuff while i am watching, and watch them try to cover their ears while doing so.

I love my compustars, great range, very durable remotes, i have seen a lot of the older DEI LCD's get destroyed very quickly, and installation is easy like all the others. I have only had one problem and it was a bad antenna on the sentra but that was within the first week and the battery was always dieing so that could have caused it.

Shawn, i hope you are happy and it sounds like you got a great alarm.

You can make your own plate out of a scrap piece of aluminum that you traced from the gasket. Then just put a resistor across the wires to get rid of the CEL.

You should find the post pretty easily. I had a link to the old forum but its dead now.

EVERYTHING falls into the installer and the time/quality of the installation. No matter what alarm you get, it all comes to that. Many brands are rebranded DEI products, so just stick to something DEI and you are set. I like the UNGO branded alarms that Clarion sells. They are DEI products.

NISsport EGR Blockoff Kit with Gaskets for High Port SR20DE

Already purchased, and thank you sir.

It is being shipped to Shepherd Square as we speak.

Also, I noticed during my search that while you will not get anymore performane from deleting that EGR crap, it is possible that the EGR crap breaking/failing can cause a bad idle. My EGR equipment is definitely bad, making a death rattle, and I have ben chasing an annoying idle gremlin (with the AC on) for a few years. Perhaps when the EGR stuff (dying for who knows how long now?) is deleted, the idle issue may be fixed.

We shall see.

I know for certain that the Nissport block-off kit is gonna be waaaay cheaper than...uh...replacing the dead, rattling EGR parts. That notion is a firm negative. LOL.

I am pretty sure I am in good shape now. Compustar on alert and no steering wheel in the vehicle. Good luck without a tow-truck.

I appreciate all your expertise and input.

I am quite certain my install is up to professional snuff. Sal is way into the car scene in Houston, knows how I feel about my ride and personally recommended these guys. With his firm and glowing endorsement, I only went to the one shop, no looking around necessary.
