UPDATE:

Got my boss 1200 from fedex on Tuesday and was to lazy/cold to do anything but look at it, i must say its a very nice piece but i was skeptical because i never trust the "cheap brands" i.e. Pyle, boss, pyramid, and so on.

FITMENT:
today i drove over to see jen36 and tryed to get it under the passenger seat of his NX2k......that was a no go, HOW EVER, it could easily be mounted to the back of the fold down seat. i am un sure if it will fit under an ser seat because i remember they are a tad higher....but i doubt it. it fits long ways under my mazda3 seat, when its warm and i have the drive im removeing my seat to see if i can put it sideways.

OUTPUT:
for the size of this thing all i have to say is.....holy sh!t!!!!!!! at the moment i have it in the hatch area of my mazda3 Velcroed to the floor and this thing f'in kicks for the size of it! i have it set to play nothing above 100hz i think, gain about 1/2 to 3/4 and bass boost all the way up. i have no clue what the sub sonic filter does so i left it alone. iv got to say the out put of this is only slightly less than my 12inch DVC in a 1cf sealed box with 300rms driving it. i tested the "SPL" with nelly "pimp juice" lol.......song hits hard. however the double bass drum hits on "94 hours" by "as i lay dying" are nice and tight. i would recommend this to ANYONE looking for some bass and refuses to loose floor space.

i can imagine the output of the 8inch shawn has to be close to the same with it just under his passenger seat. while i have no personal experience with it i would recommend either one.

I figured that 10" version would hit pretty hard. Larger driver, larger magnet, three times the RMS figure ("Peak power".....:rolleyes.

The subsonic filter will cut out anything below whatever Hz you set it at.

I would venture an educated guess that there is no way that speaker/enclosure is able to produce 30 Hz and below with any semi-reasonable efficiency or accuracy. Therefore, cut out everything below 30 Hz. Try that, then plus and minus 5 or 10 Hz. That super-low-end stuff that is beyond the driver/box capabilities is doing nothing but "muddying" your bass.

I do have "proximity" under the passenger seat vs. installed in the (relatively distant) trunk. I'd have even more proximity if I stuck the sub under the drivers seat, but I'm perfectly content for now to leave it in it's current location.

To be honest, I have not rechecked, reset, nor experimented with my subwoofer and HU settings. I've been too damn busy, but will fiddle with the features shortly. See what sounds best to me.
