New subs for the rear deck
I recently scored a pair of ED 7kv.2 (eu700) dual 2ohm subs from coach. Im gonna put them in my rear deck Sentrixx style. So, now I need a good affordable amp to power these babies. Im considering the ED Nine.2 or the Alpine MRP-M450. Any suggestions? What do you guys think?

How much power does each of those take...??

I think they are good for about 200 watts rms. I believe Sentrixx has 250 bridged watts powering his, so like 125 watts to each speaker.

I would go with the Alpine, wiring it up as a 2ohm load gives about 400 rms...you only get 300 rrms on the ED amp.If you ever need the extra power you have it available with the Alpine amp.

Glad to see you scored! NICE!!!

I would go eD just because their stuff is nice. Just remember, you don't need to power them as much do to them not being in a box. But either way... any 400x2 amp will work fine. Just make sure you wire them up right and you should be good.

Check eD's site about wiring diagrams.

Thanks man. How much power do you think is too much for an IB set-up? Why can subs handle more power in a sealed box?

I think anything over 200 is way to much.. I mean it all depends on your gain setting on the amp and how it sounds. Usually in a sealed box you can power them about the same but the output is MUCH MUCH more.

I do plan on making a box for my other 2 here soon... I will post it up and let ya know how well and different it sounds. But this won't be for a few more weeks.

No man. The holidays have had me pretty busy. I still need to buy an amp, wiring kit, 8" grills, edead, and those bump stops that you use. BTW, what kind of bumpstops are those and where can I get them?
