need help (small part needed or info)
I recently had the luck of finding a rockford fosgate 501bd amp at a junkyard still in the vehicle that i bought for 25 bucks.

Well, I have no idea about rockford amps but it calls for a 50amp fuse and theres no fuse on the amp itself. do i just wire it up like any normal amp and I need to use a 50amp fuse?

Also, the battery line in is the allen screw type but the allen screw is missing. it uses a 7/64th allen screw and does anyone know where to find one or has extras of these who could mail me one?

TIA!

You would need the 50 amp fuse on the amp. If you don't put one it, it won't power up. Just buy an allen head screw from your local hardware store... I hope this helps.

Your can get a copy of the owners manual here:

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/scripts/rightnow.cfg/php.exe/enduser/fattach_get.php?p_sid=dUNuKehj&p_tbl=9&p_id=301&p_created=1083264150

After skimming thru the manual it looks like you have to put one in line with the batt and amp. Manual also states that the fuse is not supplied. It has a few suggestions for wiring.

Hope that helps!

ok whewwww! i thought thats how the amp got wired. thanks for that.

i got a few fuses from the junkyard.

fyi, fuses are very cheap at the jy and sables, caravan, and the like use larger (agu i think they are called) fuses (40-60amps) in the engine bay fuse box (even circuit breaker fuses!)
