I just got my gspec spacer and other parts in the mail today. fits perfect and it right in line. I'm using a gtir oil pump on a 53j block with th gtir crank pulley

Im having clearance issues too, Its a VE block with a S14 DET crank and DE pulley and DE pump, the oil pump gear is proud of the oil pump drive by about 2-3 mm, far thinner amount than the Gspec spacer, when i did it up last night it locked up but a quick check shows the pulley is clearing housing ok, belts are well lined up and fitting a Gspec spacer would probably completely stuff up the belt alignment and the pully wouldn't touch the seal either.

Anyone struck this? Im thinking either Put another spare spacer in the lathe and machine one down to 3-4mm (after a good measure) or cut and file the sides of the pulley to go inside the oil pump drive.

Wish I'd seen this several months ago... Put the VE oil pump on my DE engine last night and then went to install the crank pulley, and "Hey, why doesn't my engine want to turn over as I tighten this down? That's odd..." *facepalm*

Ah well, spoke to Greg and the parts to make it work are on the way. Should have ordered his full kit in the first place. Cost would have been pretty much the same as buying the pump from NRS (where I got mine) and buying the pulley/spacer/pickup/gasket from G-Spec.

Not like I need to have the engine in the car for a race in three weeks or anything.

oil pump collar
So I'm running s13 block and pulley with vvl pump and collar. According to the diagram my belts won't align properly. Mazworx has there own spacer and recommends to machine the pulley 3mm. Can anyone vouch that the spacer brings it to the same height as the vvl collar by itself? If so then machining the vvl collar 3mm would also do the job correct? Anyone see anything wrong with my method?

I guess I'm having some trouble with seeing all the combos that I haven't seen mine...I'm trying to run a DE crank in a DET block with a GTiR oil pump/cover. I need to know which spacer to run with what pulley and what pick up. From what I understand the DET and DE stuff should be ok running together with the exception being the new GTiR oil pump and front cover.

Any help would be appreciated.

You think we'd have this thread if it were that simple?

No, that doesn't work.

You have to machine two slots into the DE pulley to fit inside the oil pump gear (never seen this done). Or you have to go with the VE pulley and VE drive collar (this is not so common). Or the VE pulley and the DE drive collar with G-spec spacer (almost everyone does this).

Does this apply to RWD cars too?
Im running a S13 SR20DE RWD engine, DE collar, VE pump and gspec spacer and with the VE pulley it doenst line up with the alternator and water pump.
I tried with the DE pulley and will have to machine the back of the pulley about 4mm to fit.

With the oil pump installed and the RWD DE collar in there and pushed in tightly, does the DE collar stick out past the oil pump drive gear? If so, then you don't need the G-spec spacer and you'll be all set.

If you tried with the DE pulley and it needs 4mm taken off for it to work, then the VE pulley should work for you because it already has those 4mm (I think 5mm actually) taken off.

Hey Ben, actually the VE pulley sits too far in and the DE too far out. I'll see what happens.
