GTI-R what need to use VVL oil pump ?
Hi !
Have a GTI-R engine that is on rebuilding stage and i now search for a oil pump . All GTI-R oem pump front covers is backorderd and cant find any where i can buy some.
So question is can i use VVL oil pump and what i need to fit it in 54C block (gti-r) or is it ''Bolt On''?

I used a gtir oil pump on a de with a ve oil pick up. I have a very low mile gtir oil pump if you need one.

Thaks for answers ! So i found out that VE oil pump is bolt on GTI-R block and all GTI-R parts can be used with no problems.
I will buy a VVL oil pump and then i can try it out if the theory is true !

You will want to run the VE oil pickup also.

GTI-R pickup most be bolt on to VE pump so no need for pickup !

This is correct, the GTiR uses the larger oil pump pick up flange like the VE. For AWD you will need to use the gtir pick up on the VE pump.

Fun fact GTiR SR20DET & Xtrail SR20VET share the exact same oil pick up, its even the same part number

So here we are ! Bought a VVL oil pump and fitted to Gti-r block !
Parts what bolt on fit is oil pump drive collar and oil pick up !
Stock GTI-R crank shaft pulley did not fit , need to use VVL pulley or G-spec alu pulley !

What didn't fit about the pully? Quite sure they have the same clearances as the ve
