Is the GTI-R alternator different from other SR20s?

I had a hard time changing mine.. pulling the upper IC pipe, taking out the radiator upper hose, and the long bolt would not come off, it was blocked by the turbo. I used my original alternator and bracket from my old N/A SR20 when I did the swap.

I had to find my way and loosen the bracket to take out the alternator with the bracket attached to it.

I used and avenir alternator, and the pulley was smaller, and the original belt was just too long. and couldn't interchange the pulleys, they're different.

The alternators are the same, the only thing is as you said alternator bolt its difficult to remove due to the turbo.
do what i do,
i put the bolt in the other way so is more easy to take it out.

I ended up removing the whole bracket to get it out, and I tried to put it the other way around, but it hit the chassis, so I bolted it up to the bracket and put it the same way I took it out. I hope I don´t have to change this soon again.

yea i did it the same way when i had to take out my alternator.

took both bottom bracket bolts loose then flipped the alt down to get the top one loose and just take the alt out with the big bolt and bracket in one shot
