Thread: Alternative AWD Transmission

The Audi TT 02M conversion has the Audi rear diff, as that's what controls the awd, the person doing this has now has the 2nd shell (winter green ) modified to let the conversion fit. The shell is now getting re painted, he taken some pics and has some info on the flywheel.

Is any info , pictures , how going the audi tt gearbox swap ?
Here in east europe we have some audi tt-s for breaking and now i thinking to buy one to do the swap !
What i understand is i need to do is re weld gearbox mount plate for bolt up it to sr20det block !
How about drive shafts , can i use audi tt inner shaft end and pulsars outer shaft end ?
What about rear audi tt diff mounting ? can i use standart diff mount frame with modifications or need to use audi tt frame ?

What part of the gtir trans/transfer has been know to be breaking?

And, any idea if there's a weight increase, and how roughly how much, if swapping to one of the other gearbox setups mentioned here?

The factory gearbox is capable holding good power/tq with a few modifications, my has been holding up just fine with the modifications I have done to it. My car weighs 2900lbs and I launch it @ 7000 rpm with 20psi on the 2 step, hooks 1.5-1.6 60ft.

Can you share the secret of this modifications what you have done with gearbox ?

a few days ago i started to lunch mine on 6000 rpm , 13 PSI lauch control on 2863 lbs AWD B13 , 15 INCH ad Toyo R888 tires over 10 launch and no broke,
i have 87mm SR20VE-T with GT35 Turbo
