Thread: coolant hoses

okay i found the coolant hoses i need. there in a kit on ebay. but now my prob is theres 2 coolant hoses under the intake mani. i took them off from underneath (p.i.t.a) but i got it. but i cant get the new ones on. they say take the mani off but theres now way i can get my hand between the firewall and the mani to get the bolts on the bottom half of the plenum. anyone know of any good tips?

Take the intake manifold off.

i know i have to do that but my problem is getting my hand between the mani and the firewall to take the top half of the plenum off.i cant get to the bolts

When I changed these on my DET, I took the entire intake manifold off together as one from the top of the motor. I'm not sure what motor you're working on but you may have a harder time if it's a GTIR DET.

it is harder but it's possible, I'm doing it for the second time and it's pretty straight forward.

Well I ordered the hoses I put 2 of them on from underneath. But I still have a coolant leak from under there it almost seems like its coming from the 2 little hoses that go to the oil filter housing but the hoses seem to small to be leaking that much coolant when I Shut the car off
