5mm PTFE Plenum Spacer Gasket
Two questions:

-Anyone know how to calculate the "estimated" gains, if any, from the added volume?

-Who would be interested?

Price would be somewhere in the ballpark of $50-$75 I would imagine. Made in the U.K. by the guys who do intake spacers for the R. Shipping would, of course, be cheaper for the boys overseas.

Just trying to see the interest in something before I just have one made up for myself. I'm interested in just for one more spacer that will help deter heat transfer.

For the record: a 5mm spacer will add about 1/4 of a liter to the plenum volume. In theory if you had a 5mm spacer between the ITBs and the head, a 5mm spacer between the ITBs and the plenum, and stacked two 5mm spacers in the plenum you would gain 10mm in runner length (making the runners ~305mm from the top of the stacks to the valve stem) and add half a liter to the plenum volume (making it about 3L in volume). Just food for thought.

That would be about the limit of spacing you could do without getting to close to the firewall. Plus, with that many PTFE spacers between the plenum and the block I'm pretty sure you would have some significant temperature differences in the plenum.

I would stay away from teflon as a sandwich material. too much creep under load.

there is reason people use phenolic for spacers. much more stable under temperature and load.

just my 2 cents.
