Thread: Turbo oil feed line kit question.

I have a question about this item:

It looks to be exactly what I need, I just have a couple of questions. The line takes oil from where the factory oil pressure sender is, correct? And this sender can be relocated to the "T" fitting in the line, yes? Also, is there any lengthening of wires needed to do this?

FYI: FWD SR20 block with GTi-R manifold and T28 turbo.

i think its made to accomadate a after market oil pressure snesor....IIRC the stock dummy light is a bit bigger....then my autometer sensor

If that's true, then how much is a new sensor, and/or what thread style am I looking for? What would it cost to retain the stock dummy light?

Ben, are you looking on this kit for simplicity, budget or stock? Nothing against GFD, but I think the CS piece (from gspec) for $85, plus a 44" section of line from anplumbing is better.

^^ i was going to say the same thing. I also have the same set as him. also have 2 Nisport adapters is you need one.

but I wouldn't mind the ease of the GFD one.

All of the above. Really, I was gunna go with the NisSport adapter plus some line and fittings until I saw this. Just seemed like it would be cheaper and easier. Looking stock is sort of nice too (would like not to have blue and red fittings everywhere). If there's something else recommended maybe we can take this out of the GFD section... =/

Thanks to you too Keo. I'll let you know about the NisSport adapter.

It seems there are three options for me.

Option #1: Get a NISsport oil feed adapter and then buy some -4AN line from [url]www.anplumbing.com[/url] and fittings to match the NISsport adapter and the turbo. Also figure out oil restrictor/size for T28 turbo.
Aprox $80.

Option #2: Get a Custom Steel oil distribution block, plug up the two unused holes and find -4an hose, hose ends, and a longer axle bracket bolt.
Aprox $100.

Option #3: Get the GoFastDepot oil feed line with everything pre-done, no thinking, cheap price. Assuming it comes with the restrictor built in. Get a 1/8 NPT male to 1/8 BPT(BSP) female adapter for the stock oil sender and call it a day.
Aprox $77.

I'm leaning heavily towards option #3. Thoughts?

It doesn't have the right threads for the block side and isn't long enough to route easily. Cheap, but not as inexpensive as the GFD option.

Ben, that T is made for a 1/8" NPT fitting. The stock sender is a BSPT, so it won't fit so snug in there. I highly suggest you run an oil pressure gauge if you don't already have one, if the dummy light ever comes on, its already too late. But if you don't have an oil psi gauge, you can get the optional plug for the T.

I am aware of this and searched for a while to find an adapter that should solve this problem. How do you like me now?

You know, it's great to see the status of oil pressure and the health of the engine and all, I just don't feel the need for that much information on such a weak build like mine. I know I fly against tradition here but I don't plan on running any aftermarket gauges at all. They are great for testing and tuning, but pretty silly in general if you ask me. I'm not going to get into it, but I don't see myself making use of one actually.

Okay just to be doubly sure; the GoFastDepot turbo oil feed line comes with a restrictor built in?
