ACL Bearings
A guy over on the old forum asked this yesterday, and it's a good questions for those that might not know:

"is it possible to go with acl standard rod bearings on a de insted of getting the bearing grade #'s. i was told that if i couldnt find the bearing grade #'s, that i can just go with std acl's. is this true. if so, then why doesnt every body just go with acl's instead of finding the #'s."

The awnser someone gave was:

"If you want to build a tight race engine you would probably want to go with the exact grade. Tighter tolerances make more power. But if your not going full on race I youll be fine with the standard ACL's. I hope this make sence."

I actully was wondering about this because I was going to swich out all my bearings soon when I rebuild my bottom end and was going to go with ACL WPC treated bearings. So what did you guys that have ACL bearings do when getting your bearings?

Grade matched, but only done one motor with ACL. Other times I used grade matched NIssan bearings.

I have used several sets of ACL and I have no problems. It may not be tight to the .0001" but who cares. Having more clearance will help (to an extent) with oil film and protection. Tight tolerances are nice for stock engines.

The stock ones are cheaper
